Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The budget session of the assembly beginning from Monday is all set to be stormy. The session consists of nine sittings. The Congress legislators have rolled up their sleeves to corner the government over the rip-off in the Transport Department.
On the other hand, the ruling dispensation is gearing up to pin down Leader of Opposition (LoP) Umang Singhar and Deputy Leader of Opposition Hemant Katare. Singhar’s wife alleged that he had murdered his ex-girlfriend. A case is going on in the court.
The BJP is going to make it an issue in the House against Singhar. EOW has registered an FIR against Katare in connection with a land scam. So, the government will pull him up on the issue. Because the BJP and the Congress are ready to collar each other in the House, the budget session may be fiery.
The government may put up information about its achievements in the Global Investors Summit (GIS) in this session. But the Congress is ready to pull up the government on GIS.
The main agenda of the session is to pass the supplementary budget to be put up in the House on March 11 and the budget to be tabled on March 12. The opposition is trying to keep the discussion around corruption in the Transport Department.
Congress to target two ministers
The Congress is planning to target mainly two ministers: former transport minister and present Food and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Singh Rajput, and Urban Development Minister Prahlad Patel.
The party will make all efforts to corner Rajput in connection with properties he gathered and the scam in the Transport Department. They will target Patel on the ‘beggar statement’ and demand his resignation from the House.
