Thane: A late-night accident on the slopes of Cadbury Bridge Flyover in Thane left six people injured after a chain collision involving four vehicles, including a heavy trailer, a tempo, a Tata Punch car and a dumper. The incident occurred around midnight on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, the accident was triggered when the trailer applied sudden brakes, causing the Tata Punch car behind it to go underneath the heavy vehicle. The car was then hit from behind by a tempo, which was further rammed by a dumper. The impact resulted in a massive pileup, leaving the occupants of the Tata Punch car injured.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene, and the injured individuals were rushed to Bethany Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far.
Authorities towed away the trailer and the tempo from the accident site to clear the roadway. The incident led to temporary traffic congestion in the area, but normal flow was restored after the vehicles were removed.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident and whether speed, driver error, or road conditions played a role in the collision. Further updates on the condition of the injured are awaited.
6 Injured In Kalyan Accident Yesterday
Meanwhile, in another similar accident, six people were injured after a cement mixer truck lost control due to brake failure, triggering a multi-vehicle collision on the Kalyan-Pune Link Road near Vijay Nagar Road on Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 11 am.
According to police reports, the out-of-control cement mixer truck crashed into another cement mixer, leading to a chain reaction involving a tempo and three auto rickshaws. The impact left six individuals, who were seated in different vehicles, with injuries.
