Thane: Six individuals were injured after a cement mixer truck driver lost control following a brake failure, colliding with another cement mixer truck and causing a collision involving three to four vehicles in Kalyan East on Saturday morning. The police said that the incident took place on Kalyan Pune Link Road near Vijay Nagar Road at 11 AM on Saturday.
According to the police, in the accident, one tempo, three auto rickshaws, and two cement mixer trucks have been damaged in the collision caused by a cement mixer truck. Six people who were sitting in various vehicles were injured after being hit by a truck.
Ajay Aade, a tempo who suffered a fracture to his leg while five others suffered minor injuries. Following this accident, locals rushed to the spot and took them to a nearby hospital where they were being treated. The driver of the cement mixer truck has been detained. A case was booked under the provisions of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against the driver.
Ganesh Nhayade, Police Inspector from Kolsewadi Police Station said, "Due to the brake failure of a cement mixer truck, it dashed into another cement mixer truck, resulting in damage to four other vehicles. So far, Ajay Aade has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment while five others were discharged after receiving first aid. However, we have detained the driver of the cement mixer truck. Further investigation is underway."
