Traffic congestion in the central areas of Pune is a major problem. However, to address the growing traffic issue in the central parts of the city and facilitate faster and more convenient travel for citizens, Kasaba MLA Hemant Rasane met with PWD Minister Shivendra Singh Raje Bhosle and suggested building two subways during the meeting: one from Sarasbaug to Shaniwarwada and one from Shaniwarwada to Swargate.
Theses subways proposed by Hemant Rasane are expected to address the issue of the traffic congestion in Kasba assembly constituency. The traffic gets worse particularly near places like Shaniwarwada and Swargate, which are notoriously congested because of their historical and commercial significance.
These underground tunnels would provide a permanent solution to the growing traffic woes and enable quicker movement for commuters in the busy central areas of Pune.

Rasane further emphasised the need for an immediate meeting with relevant officials to approve the subway projects and expedite their planning and implementation.
During the meeting, Rasane also highlighted the stalled construction of the Mameldar Kacheri administrative building and requested Minister Bhosle’s assistance in speeding up the process.
Bhosle responded positively to both requests, assuring that action would be taken promptly.
It is expected that when these subways are completed, traffic congestion will be much reduced, improving everyday commutes and lowering stress levels for Pune residents in the central part of the city. Additionally, the construction of these subways would enhance general connectivity throughout important areas and promote Pune's urban development. This proposal might be a significant step toward improving urban infrastructure and resolving the city's traffic problem with the backing of state and local authorities.
