Women in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will be able to travel for free on International Women’s Day (March 8) in the specially launched Tejaswini buses of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML). This free travel service will be available on 13 routes across the cities, with a total of 42 trips scheduled throughout the day.

Bus Routes and Arrangements

The Tejaswini buses will operate from key depots, including Swargate, Narayan Peth, Kothrud, Katraj, Hadapsar, Upper Depot, Pune Station, Nigdi, Pimpri, and Bhosari.

To ensure smooth service, all scheduled bus trips will run without interruption. PMPML has instructed depot managers to ensure the proper operation of the Tejaswini buses. Additionally, female conductors will be assigned to these buses. As a special gesture, officials at bus stops will greet women with roses and extend their best wishes for Women's Day.

Nitin Narvekar, Joint MD of PMPML, speaking to Free Press Journal, said, "In respect of women and on the occasion of Women's Day, PMPML has offered free rides on March 8. No travelling fee will be taken from women on this day."
