NTPC Bongaigaon observed 54th National Safety Day with a series of initiatives aimed at reinforcing its commitment to a safe and secure workplace. The event commenced with the hoisting of the Safety Flag at the plant premises in the presence of NTPC employees, CISF personnel, associates, and contract workers, symbolizing the station's dedication to safety excellence.

Kar led the proceedings by administering a safety pledge to the gathering, urging everyone to integrate safety practices into both their professional duties and daily lives. In his address, he emphasized the uncompromising importance of adhering to safety protocols across all plant operations. He called upon every department, including contract workers, to ensure strict compliance with the established safety framework.

Adding to the emphasis on safety, Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), highlighted the collective responsibility of employees in maintaining a safe workplace. He discussed various aspects of operational safety and the need for proactive risk management at every level.

The Safety Department, led by Pavel Sarker, AGM (Safety) and his team, who coordinated the event outlined the objectives of the day, reiterating NTPC's ongoing efforts to enhance safety standards and promote a culture of safety-first among its workforce.

A knowledge-sharing forum was also organized, providing a platform for contractual workers, associates, and site engagement teams to exchange insights on effective safety practices. Discussions centered on proactive safety measures and the adoption of safe operational practices, reflecting a unified commitment to minimizing risks.

The occasion was graced by the presence of M.S. Kandari, Asst. Commandant, CISF-Fire, and other senior officials, who reiterated the significance of a robust safety culture. Heads of various departments shared their perspectives on the need for a safety-first approach, emphasizing that safety is a shared responsibility.

In a bid to further reinforce safety awareness, a series of safety competitions have been planned for the workforce in the coming days. These initiatives aim to deepen the understanding of safety protocols and encourage proactive participation from employees.
