Television actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, rose to fame with the serial Udaariyaan, produced by actors Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey. The show was one of the longest-running Indian television soap operas. After spending years in the TV industry, the actress shared that she is eager to star in a movie, however, as an outsider, she acknowledged that the journey comes with a lot of 'struggle.'
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Priyanka shared, "Getting into movies is a task—it’s not easy at all. I’ve taken a short break from TV because it’s a long-term commitment, and I want to explore more. For now, I’m focusing on movies and OTT."
Further, she shared, "I feel, for outsiders, there is a lot of struggle. You can deny it or accept it, but struggle hai. I feel ghera bana liya hain film industry mein. There are few people who give a chance, but if you are lucky enough to get a chance, then you continue doing hard work. I believe in this—do your hard work—maybe not today or tomorrow, but definitely, I am going to grab it. But I know getting into movies is very difficult. If the time is right, you’ll get it."
Priyanka admitted to receiving film offers; however, she felt that the scripts did not suit her, so she chose to decline them.
Expressing disappointment on actors being stereotypes, Priyanka added, "Mujhe ajeeb lagta hai jab categorise karte hai, TV actors, OTT actors and movie actors mein. An actor is an actor—the job is to act. A good actor will perform just as well on TV as in movies, but chance to dekar dekho. Instead of categorising, give us a chance. We deserve it!"
