Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) service is receiving a positive response from passengers using the ‘Majhi TMT’ mobile app in the city. According to TMT officials, the ‘Majhi TMT’ application has been downloaded approximately 2,340 times from the Apple App Store and 9,390 times from the Android Play Store within two months. Moreover, 4,016 tickets were purchased through the app in January, generating ₹48,303 in revenue. In February, the number of tickets sold rose to 14,944, amounting to ₹2,22,759.

Bhalchandra Behere, Manager at TMT, said, “The ‘Majhi TMT’ mobile application was launched in October 2024 by former CM and current Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. Aimed at enhancing the passenger experience for TMT services, the app enables passengers to purchase digital tickets through UPI, making their journey cashless.” He further added that the app initially faced some technical issues when it was launched. Tickets purchased via the app are valid for 90 minutes from the time of purchase.

According to TMT officials, the ‘Majhi TMT’ app helps reduce cash-handling issues, particularly regarding change. It allows passengers to check fares for their destinations, minimizing disputes with conductors over fare amounts. Additionally, the app offers multiple digital payment options, including UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net banking. The app also provides real-time bus tracking, estimated arrival times, and route details. Passengers can input their starting point and destination to receive information about available buses and fare details.
