The photos of the murder of the sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district, Santosh Deshmukh, went viral a few days ago on social media. On Tuesday, activists of the Sakal Maratha Samaj staged demonstrations at Kranti Chowk demanding that former state cabinet minister Dhananjay Munde be made a co-accused in the murder case. The police have filed a charge sheet in court in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case. The photos of the murder were also submitted in court. These photos went viral on social media, causing resentment from various strata of society over the cruelty of the murderers. The Maratha community has taken an aggressive stand over the incident.

Members of the Maratha community gathered at Kranti Chowk to condemn the incident. They alleged that the murder was a ransom conspiracy and former minister Munde was involved in it. Hence, they demanded that he be made the co-accused in the case. The agitators shouted slogans against Dhananjay Munde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Meanwhile, a team of lawyers led by Adv. Datta Hud, after seeing the viral photos of the murder, condemned the incident with a silent protest for one and a half hours at Kranti Chowk on Tuesday morning.
