Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during the budget discussion in the assembly on Tuesday, March 4, countered the Samajwadi Party’s claims that boatmen were the most exploited and neglected community during the Maha Kumbh 2025.

In response, Adityanath highlighted the success story of a boatman's family, claiming that they saved Rs 30 crore with just 130 boats in 45 days. "I am narrating the success story of a boatman. This boatman's family has a total of 130 boats. In 45 days, these people made a net saving of 30 crores," he said.

"In 45 days, one boat saved and earned Rs 23 lakh rupees. If you look at their daily savings, their income was around Rs 50,000 to Rs 52,000 per day for one boat," he further claimed.

the UP CM further added, "On February 27, I went to Prayagraj, and after reaching there, I first declared the significance of Maa Ganga. Along with my colleagues, we worshipped Maa Ganga and also carried out a cleanliness drive. After this, we spoke to the sanitation workers who contributed to keeping the entire Maha Kumbh clean and helped in maintaining the cleanliness of the Ganga. We also had a conversation with the boatmen, who provided good service, showed good behaviour, and ensured that no diseases spread. We announced a package for them, too."

In addition, Adityanath also addressed concerns over Ansal API's bankruptcy in Lucknow and the plight of affected homebuyers during his address. Adityanath termed Ansal a creation of the Samajwadi Party and warned that if even a single homebuyer is defrauded, Ansal’s entire property would be seized. He further declared that the government would go to any extent — even the depths of hell — to ensure strict punishment.
