Tension prevailed as a running car operated on CNG suddenly caught fire in the Chowk on Monday evening. The incident occurred near the exit gate of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Railway Station. However, the driver, his wife, and three children in the car immediately got out, and a major accident was averted.

The traffic police, Vedantnagar police, and the fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot upon receiving the information. The fire brigade jawans quickly extinguished the fire. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported, but the car incurred heavy losses.

According to witnesses, a car (MH12 QY 6324) was coming from the direction of Hotel Beed towards the Railway Station. Yogesh Gorakhnath Surase, a resident of Jaibhavaninagar, his wife, and three children were in the car.

They heard a sudden noise in the car when they arrived near the Railway Station Chowk and saw smoke coming from the car. Surase immediately parked the car aside and took all the passengers out. Within no time, the car burst into flames.

Nearby residents informed the Vedantnagar police about the incident. PI Praveena Yadav Bhojane notified the fire brigade. The traffic police, Vedantnagar police, and the fire brigade rushed to the spot and took control of the situation.

Meanwhile, residents in the railway station area were panicked due to the sudden outburst of fire. A case has been registered with the Vedantnagar police station.
