A powerful explosion rocked the Bagh Ameer area of Kukatpally, Hyderabad on Tuesday, causing panic among local residents and leaving one person severely injured.
According to reports, the blast occurred at an illegal gas filling station, where the shop owner, identified as Shankar, sustained serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. His current condition remains unknown.
The explosion was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the premises. In the footage that has since gone viral on social media, a motorcyclist can be seen stopping outside the shop moments before the blast. As the explosion occurs, the biker abandons his vehicle and flees the scene.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest the blast was likely caused by improper handling and storage of flammable materials at the unauthorised facility.

In separate news, a massive cracker explosion was repoted from Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada on Monday. The explosion reportedly took place at Balaji Exports while others were unloading cracker parcels from Hyderabad leaving four people injured. A CCTV footage of the incident surfaced online.
