The Suryadatta National Award 2025 was conferred upon the Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, Kobbi Shoshani, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to external affairs and for strengthening bilateral ties between Israel and India.

The award was presented at a grand ceremony held at JW Marriott, in the presence of distinguished guests, including renowned actor Raza Murad, Prof Dr Sanjay B Chordiya (Founder President and Chairman of Suryadatta Education Foundation), Sushama S Chordiya (Vice President & Secretary, Suryadatta Education Foundation) and other dignitaries.

During the ceremony, Snehal Navalakha (AVP, Suryadatta Education Foundation), Siddhant S Chordiya (EDO), Akshit Kushal (COO), Rohit Sancheti (GM, Operations) of the Suryadatta Group of Institutes and Sagar Chordiya (Managing Director, World Trade Centre) were also present to honor Shoshani.

Prof Dr Sanjay B Chordiya, in his address, emphasised the significance of the Suryadatta National Awards, stating, “These awards are conferred upon stalwarts from different sectors and industries to inspire our students and serve as role models. Their inspiring life journeys become a lighthouse, guiding students toward their dreams and aspirations.”

Further, Dr Chordiya expressed that Suryadatta's foundation day, celebrated every year on February 7, not only marks a momentous occasion but also honours such exceptional personalities, making the event even more memorable for all present.

Snehal Navalakha, in her speech, invited Shoshani to visit the Suryadatta campus, where he graciously accepted the invitation, sharing, “I would love to interact with the young generation at Suryadatta. It is always a joy to connect with students and share my experiences.”

Shoshani, deeply honoured by the award, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Israel is often cited as a country with a strong sense of discipline and dedication, and I am proud to represent it. My love for India is immense, and with every passing year, my admiration for the culture and people of this beautiful nation continues to grow. I humbly accept this prestigious award.”

Shoshani, who first came to India in 1992 and later served as the Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, also shared his excitement about addressing the students of Suryadatta and imparting wisdom drawn from his extensive experience.

He appreciated the Suryadatta Group of Institutes for their relentless efforts in providing exceptional education and creating an environment where students can thrive and reach their fullest potential. "It is with great pleasure that I anticipate a future visit to Suryadatta. I look forward to engaging with the students and staff, sharing insights, and contributing to the growth and development of this wonderful institution. The path to knowledge is a collaborative one, and I am eager to be a part of it."

Dr Chordiya, concluding the ceremony, highlighted how such awards not only celebrate the achievements of individuals like Shoshani but also serve to inspire and ignite the ambitions of the younger generation.

Raza Murad, in his address at the award ceremony, expressed his admiration for Shoshani and the invaluable contributions he has made in strengthening the relationship between Israel and India. He said, "It is an honour to be part of this momentous occasion where we celebrate not only the achievements of an outstanding individual but also the strong ties between two great nations."

He added, "I am deeply honoured to be associated with Suryadatta since 2014, and I continue to cherish this relationship. I look forward to being part of this remarkable tradition for many more years to come."
