Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A mosquito was spotted inside a sealed water bottle from Pure company, which supplies packaged drinking water across Jabalpur. The incident came to light when a customer purchased the bottle from Kesharwani Ice Cream Parlour in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur.

The customer complained to the shopkeeper about a foul smell from the water and the presence of a mosquito inside the sealed bottle. The shopkeeper, in turn, informed the supplier about the issue. When the supplier did not pay attention, the shopkeeper filed a complaint with the Food Safety Department.

According to information, on Monday afternoon, a man, resident of Jabalpur district visited the Kesharwani Ice Cream Parlour in Rampur area. Here, he got himself a water bottle to quench his thirst. To his surprise, when he looked at the bottle, he discovered a mosquito floating in the water. Perplexed, he complained about the same to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper in turn contacted the plant operators and complained about the same.

When contacted, the operator informed that the water bottles had been supplied in bulk, with five cartons delivered to an office. Saying this, he disconnected the call. When the plant operator failed to take action despite being informed, a formal complaint was lodged with the Food Department. Taking cognizance of the matter, the department has initiated an investigation to ensure quality control and public safety.
