"Pune, known as the cultural and educational hub, is now recognised as an industrial hub too. The air and soil here have a unique quality, and Pune has a glorious legacy. This city has shaped the lives of many and led them to the pinnacle of success," stated Dr SB Mujumdar, founder of Symbiosis International University.
The book 'Videshmukhi,' written by Sunil Deshmukh—who turned his life into an inspiring success story through determination and perseverance—was launched by Dr Mujumdar. The event was held at the Sumant Moolgaokar Auditorium on Senapati Bapat Road and graced by IT expert Dr Dipak Shikarpur, author Sunil Deshmukh and publisher Sushrut Kulkarni from Amaltash Books.
Dr Mujumdar said, "Your success depends on your persistence and determination. Everyone should continue working diligently in their respective fields without giving up. However, while doing so, it is essential to maintain humility in communication with others. Regardless of the field, four qualities are crucial—skill, integrity, resilience and foresight. By adhering to these, one can achieve great success in any domain. Everyone must strive to increase their value, for when we enhance our worth, we inevitably progress."
Dr Dipak Shikarpur emphasised, "Writing should be integrated with technology. Today’s era is driven by digital technology, and the younger generation relies not only on books but also on technology for reading. Therefore, to reach a wider audience, mediums like podcasts and audiobooks should be utilised. Life is built through struggles, and one must face challenges with confidence and keep moving forward. Sunil Deshmukh’s journey of perseverance will surely serve as an inspiration for others."
Sunil Deshmukh shared the journey of his book, mentioning that, as a former student of Symbiosis, he was inspired by Dr Mujumdar. "I kept working with determination. Life brought many struggles, but instead of giving up, I stood firm with courage. Many people supported me along this journey, making it even more fulfilling," he noted.
The event was anchored by Priyanka Joshi, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Madhuri Deshmukh.
