Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu shared a cryptic note on 'toxicity' days after singer Mika Singh slammed her in one of his latest interviews. For those unversed, Mika alleged that Bipasha is struggling to find work in the industry due to what he describes as her 'irresponsible work ethic.'
He also said during the interview that he did not enjoy working with Bipasha and her actor-husband Karan Singh Grover on the thriller web-series Dangerous. Mika had produced the show.
On Sunday (March 2), just a day after Mika's interview went viral, Bipasha took to her Instagram story and wrote, "Stay away from toxicity and negativity. God bless all. Durga Durga."
Without mentioning any names, she also re-shared a post which read, "Toxic people create chaos, point fingers, shift blame and avoid taking responsibility." Take a look at her post here:
What did Mika Singh say during the interview?
During a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, Mika opened up about his past production experience, saying, "Why do you think they're (Bipasha and Karan) out of work now? God is watching everything." He revealed that he had a lot of admiration for Karan and initially planned to produce a film with a budget of around Rs 4 crore.
Since hiring Vikram Bhatt as a director was beyond his budget at the time, Mika brought Bhatt on board as a writer and chose Bhushan Patel to direct the project. However, he stated that the situation took a turn when Bipasha expressed interest in joining the film.
"I was considering another actress, but she wanted to be a part of it," Mika shared. With the film set to shoot in London, the budget skyrocketed from Rs 4 crore to Rs 14 crore.
"The drama created by Bipasha ensured that I would always regret getting into production. It was a team she was comfortable with, and they were playing a couple, who had to feature in kissing scenes. Suddenly, she was throwing tantrums saying she won't do this or she won't do that," the singer stated.
Further slamming the couple, Mika said, "Someone always had a sore throat. If it was Bipasha who was sick at one time, it was Karan at another."
Karan and Bipasha first crossed paths on the sets of Alone in 2015. The duo tied the knot in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, Devi, in 2022. It's been nearly five years since Bipasha last appeared on screen, marking a hiatus from acting.
On the other hand, Karan was last seen in Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor-starrer Fighter, which released in 2024.
