Head Constable Suspended For Taking ₹50k Bribe
DCP (zone-2) suspended the head constable who was caught by a team of Lokayukta special police establishment red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. DCP (zone-2) Abhinay Vishwakarma said that they received a few complaints against officiating head constable Arun Sharma posted at MIG police station and he is being suspended by his office.
ACP (Pardeshipura) Narendra Singh Rawat will conduct a preliminary investigation against the head constable and based on evidence coming out from it, a departmental probe will take place against him. Lokayukta police are parallelly conducting their investigation and will take action accordingly, he added.
It is noteworthy that Lokayukta police arrested head constable Arun Sharma for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 through a middleman Ayub Khan from a woman, Megha Delwar, to weaken the case for assault against her filed by her husband. The accused had demanded Rs 5 lakh and threatened to send her to jail if she did not give the money.
IMC Team Seizes 22 Kgs Of Plastic, Imposes Spot Fines
In a strict action against vendors selling substandard and banned polythene bags, the Indore Municipal Corporation on Sunday conducted inspections at various locations, seizing bags and imposing penalties.
Inspection of three shops led to seizure of 22 kilograms of banned polythene. A team comprising Health Officer Gautam Bhatia, CSI Zone 02 Anil Sirsia, and CSI Zone 20 Saurabh Sahu carried out operations in Zone-13 at Pawanputra Nagar’s Yadav Kirana store and near Choithram Mandi Gate, targeting street vendors selling illegal polythene bags. The traders were fined Rs 5,000 each.
Similarly, a raid was conducted at a shop owned by polythene trader Virendra Jain at Malganj Square (Ward 69, Zone 02), where substandard polythene bags – below 50 micron in thickness– were being sold. Such bags are commonly used in dairy shops. A spot fine of Rs 1,000 was imposed on the trader.
