Veteran New Zealand batter Kane Williamson and his fab four Indian counterpart Virat Kohli shared a hug after the Champions Trophy 2025 clash on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. The two star batters were all smiles as they came to know their semi-final opponents, with the Men in Blue winning by 44 runs.

Kohli failed in what was his 300th ODI but Team India managed to reach a highly competitive score of 249/9 in their stipulated 50 overs on the back of Shreyas Iyer's 79. Meanwhile, Williamson held the key for New Zealand for a long time but perished for a valiant 81 as Axar Patel had him stumped in the final ball of his spell.

India set up mouthwatering semi-final clash against Australia

With a commanding 44-run victory, Rohit Sharma and co. have set up a mouthwatering clash against Australia on March 4, Tuesday. Australia had beaten India in the 2023 World Cup final, but the Men in Blue had gotten the better of the Aussies in the T20 World Cup 2024. Hence, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top on this occasion. New Zealand, meanwhile, will face South Africa on March 5 in Lahore.

With the surface in Dubai assisting spin massively and Australia yet to play at the venue in this competition, it will be a significant challenge for them. India will also face a selection headache as they had rested seamer Harshit Rana for wrist-spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who took a fifer against the Black Caps.
