Moradabad: Two men allegedly attacked a female lawyer with an inflammable liquid inside a court premises in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad on Friday morning. Notably, the two men were accused in two cases contested by Sashi Bala, reported The Times of India. 

According to the report, one of the accused took out a country-made pistol and pointed it at 35-year-old Sashi Bala's head. Meanwhile, the second accused reportedly poured acid on her.

Bala claimed that she was attacked with acid. The female lawyer was rushed to a hospital. An FIR has been registered against the two accused under Sections 124(1) and 351(3) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), police said as reported by TOI.

The incident took place in Thakurdwara town of the district. Bala was going towards her chamber when the two accused allegedly attacked her with the inflammable material. 

According to the report, as soon as Bala's associate dropped her near her chamber when the accused attacked her. The two attackers have been identified as  Sachin Kumar and his cousin Nitin Kumar.

Fellow lawyers and other people, present inside the court complex rushed to towards Bala after hearing her screams. However, the accused managed to flee from the spot. 

The female lawyer told reporters that she fainted after the attacked. Moradabad Police official; said that in the initial investigation it seemed to a suspicious case as no burn injuries were found on woman's body due to inflammable liquid.

Statement By Moradabad Police Official:

"When we enquired about the main accused, we came to know that he was in a factory in Kashipur at 8.54 am. He worked in the factory all day and left the factory in the evening. So, this incident is doubtful and cannot be confirmed," the police official said. A detailed investigation has been ordered to find out the truth, the police officer said. Meanwhile, the doctor who treated Bala also claimed that no burn injuries were found on her body.
