Navi Mumbai: A video has surfaced from the Kopar Khairane area of Navi Mumbai showing five men being forced to apologize at the Balaji Movieplex theatre after the Chhaava film screening for laughing and joking during the movie's climax.

In a viral video circulating on social media, five men who attended the screening of Bollywood movie 'Chhaava', which portrays the life of the esteemed Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, at the Balaji Multiplex in Kopar Khairane were seen joking and laughing during the climax where the movie shows the horrifying tortures done to the great Maratha king by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. As seen in the video, the men were forced to kneel and express remorse to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj for their immoral behaviour and disrespect.

Other individuals who were watching the movie and were present at the theatre made the five men kneel and bow near the white screen, demanding an apology for their actions. One of the five men was seen saying sorry in Marathi, expressing his apology to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, "mi Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj chi maafi maagto," but the crowd rectified him, urging him to apologize to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

The man subsequently extended his apology in Hindi, stating, "Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj ki picture chal rahi thi ussme humne hassi-majak kiya," which translates to- "while the film Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was playing, we were laughing at it" and were then asked to bow and apologize by someone in the audience.

The man went on to say, "ye toh humari karmabhoomi hai, kaise bhulenge," meaning "this place (Mumbai) is our work land how can we forget", when someone in the crowd abused them while others lectured the five men for chuckling during the screening and were asked to get up and leave after the apology.

Additional details regarding an official FIR or complaint against the individuals are not available.
