Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has promoted five senior police officers, including Yashasvi Yadav and Suhas Varke, to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). The Home Department issued official orders on Friday.

Special Inspector General of Police (Cyber) Yashasvi Yadav has been promoted to ADGP while retaining his current position. Similarly, Special IG (Protection of Civil Rights) Suhas Varke has been promoted and transferred as ADGP (Prisons and Correctional Services).

Additionally, Ashwati Dorje has been appointed as ADGP (Women and Child Atrocities Prevention), while Chhering Dorje and K.M. Mallikarjun Prasanna have also been promoted. Dorje has been transferred as ADGP (Special Operations), and Prasanna has been appointed as ADGP (Administration).

Deputy Inspector General of Police (SRPF) Rajiv Jain has been promoted to Special IG and will continue in his current role. Abhishek Trimukhe has been appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region, Mumbai).

Along with promotions, the Home Department has also issued key transfer orders. Additional Superintendent of Police Shronik Lodha has been transferred to Khargaon, Buldhana. Manoj Kumar Sharma, who was on central deputation, has been appointed as Special IG (Law & Order).

Other major transfers include R.B. Dahale as Special IG (State Crime Records Bureau), Ashok Morale as Special IG (Motor Transport Department), Nikhil Gupta as ADGP (Law & Order, Maharashtra), and Suresh Mekhla as ADGP (Economic Offences).
