According to information, the accused, identified as Pawan Mishra, a resident of Mahangwa Gram Panchayat, had applied for the PMAY scheme six months ago. He alleged that while others received the funds, his application remained pending despite repeated visits to the Sarpanch and Secretary for a resolution. Dissatisfied with the response, he had previously misbehaved with the Secretary but was sent back after being calmed down by locals.
On Thursday evening, while Panchayat Secretary Jitendra Kachhi was working in the office, he was informed that Pawan was approaching with a hockey stick. Anticipating trouble, the Secretary turned on his mobile phone's video recording. Shortly after, Pawan arrived, hurled abuses, and issued death threats. However, bystanders intervened and sent him away. Later that night, the Secretary filed a complaint at the Panagar police station.
