Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The 16th Finance Commission led by its chairman Dr. Arvind Panagariya will visit the city on March 7.

The Commission members will visit the biogas plant of Indore Municipal Corporation and the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Pithampur.

Divisional commissioner Deepak Singh reviewed the preparation being made for the visit of the Commission through a video conference on Thursday.

Later, talking to this correspondent, Singh informed that eight members of the Commission would visit the biogas plant located at Devguradia and then go for inspection of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Pithampur. Later, the Commission would leave for Omkareshwar.

Collector Asheesh Singh, inspector general (IG) of police Anurag, DIG Rural Nimish Agarwal, superintendent of police (rural) Hitika Vasal, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) commissioner Shivam Verma, collector Dhar Priyank Mishra, collector Khandwa Rishabh Gupta and other officers were present in the video conferencing. The divisional commissioner gave necessary instructions to officials regarding the arrangements for the visit of the Commission.

The Finance Commission delegation includes chairman Dr. Arvind Panagariya, members Ajay Narayan Jha, Annie George Mathew, Dr. Manoj Panda, Dr. Soumyakanti Ghosh, Ritwik Pandey, KK Mishra and Kumar Vivek.
