Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two more accused in the Amit Deewan suicide case has been arrested by the rural police team from Budhni on Thursday, 24 days after the incident.
Vicky Shivhare and Akash Shivhare were apprehended following a lead in Budhni and have been sent to court after a medical examination.
Earlier, two other accused, Saurabh Sharma and Nitin Malviya, were arrested and presented in court.
The case revolves around the suicide of Amit Deewan, 33, a resident of Housing Board Colony, Narmadapuram, who took his life on February 2 at Yashraj Hotel on Babai Road.
A suicide note recovered from the scene indicated that Deewan had been harassed by the accused over an online gaming cricket betting loan. The rural police registered an FIR against eight accused, including Vicky Shivhare, Akash Shivhare, and others, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The arrest of Akash Shivhare followed the rejection of his anticipatory bail by the Jabalpur High Court.
The police are still searching for four more accused, including Prakash Shivhare’s sons and others. The police have also announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to the remaining accused's arrests.
Meanwhile, protests have been held by the Sarva Vipra Mahasabha demanding the capture of the remaining suspects.
