Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) national secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Thursday had rubbished reports of ‘rift’ with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“I am a loyal soldier of TMC. Some are spreading fake news that I am joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Some say that a new political party is coming. If someone slit my throat, I will praise party Supremo Mamata Banerjee. I know who all are spreading such fake news ahead of the election next year,” said Banerjee.

The TMC MP also urged party members to stress on public services instead of internal conflicts.
“In the past I have identified that Mukul Roy and Suvendu Adhikari had betrayed the party. In the future I will continue to do so and identify those who are betraying the party. Next year we should get more than 215 out of 294 seats in the state Assembly,” added Banerjee.
Slamming the CBI for mentioning one Abhishek Banerjee’s name in recruitment scam’s chargesheet, the nephew of the Chief Minister stated that just like BJP, the central agency is also not saying anything clearly.
“They have just mentioned the name of Abhishek Banerjee but no details are given about the person. I will still say if any misappropriation is done by me instead of summoning in would prefer to hang myself,” added the TMC MP.
