Bollywood actress Preity Zinta recently held an interactive session on X (formerly known as Twitter) to engage with her fans, where she addressed the trolling she faced after sharing photos from Maha Kumbh 2025. She also said she's not interested in joining politics, despite receiving tickets and Rajya Sabha seats from various political parties.

On Thursday (February 27), a user asked the actress, "Why your harmless Kumbh pic triggered avalanche of trolls against you?"

To this, Preity replied, "People that try to pull you down are already below you so who cares about them & about trolls and spineless keyboard cowherds (sic)."

"Real guts is when you try & make a positive change around you & your environment and make the world a better place for others and for yourself," she added.

Preity recently visited Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and gave a glimpse of her 'magical' and 'heartwarming' visit on social media.

This comes amid a controversy where the Congress party accused her of handing over her social media account to the BJP, a claim she strongly denied. She had previously responded to Kerala Congress' official X handle, asserting that she manages her own account.

Preity Zinta: No politics for me

During the session, a fan praised her and asked if she had any plans to enter politics. Preity made it clear that she has no political ambitions, saying, "No! No politics for me. Over the years, various political parties have offered me tickets and Rajya Sabha seats, but I have politely declined as it’s not what I want."

She further spoke about her military background, adding, "Calling me a soldier is not completely wrong because I am a soldier’s daughter and a soldier’s sister. We army brats are wired differently. We are not North Indian or South Indian or Himachalis or Bengalis. We are just Indians, and patriotism is in our blood."

She also said that social media toxicity is 'deeply disturbing'. In another post, she wrote, "I’m surprised at how toxic social media in India has become & how, every comment & observation is weighed on a political scale. I’m not a politician nor am I interested in politics, but as a normal person, I find this deeply disturbing. Having said that, I’m also not a delicate darling or a pushover that anyone can try & bully me, so If anyone tries they will be in for a rude shock."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Preity is all set to make her comeback with Lahore 1947, which also stars Sunny Deol and his son Karan Deol. The Rajkumar Santoshi directorial is backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
