Mumbai: Over one lakh students have registered for Maharashtra’s ‘Atal’ initiative, a special programme launched by the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell to help students prepare for competitive entrance exams through mock tests and psychometric assessments. Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil shared this update on Thursday while urging more students to take advantage of the scheme.
The ‘Atal’ initiative aims to equip students with the necessary skills and confidence to excel in entrance examinations for professional courses such as engineering, management, science, arts, and commerce. By integrating modern technology, the programme helps students assess their abilities and career interests, enabling them to make informed academic choices.
Patil emphasised that mock tests and psychometric assessments available under this initiative not only reduce exam-related stress but also boost students’ confidence. He stated that the programme is particularly beneficial for students from remote areas, as it provides structured preparation for state-level entrance exams conducted by the CET Cell.
The state government has set a target of enrolling over five lakh students in the initiative. Various colleges across Maharashtra are participating in the scheme, and extensive promotional efforts are being made to ensure maximum student participation. The initiative also aims to provide students with timely updates on exam schedules and essential information related to entrance tests.
“This programme is not just about exam preparation; it is a career guidance tool that helps students identify suitable academic paths based on their aptitude and interests,” Patil added. He encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity to enhance their preparedness for competitive exams and secure better educational prospects.
