Australia and Afghanistan will engage in what will be a virtual quarter-final of the Champions Trophy played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 28, 2025. With stakes for the clash massively high, it's worth exploring if showers will play spoilsport at the venue as it already has in two games of the tournament.
With the match in Pakistan set to begin at 3:00 pm local time, the probability of precipitation at that time is 25%. However, the conditions will remain cloudy and the cloud cover remains at 40%. The conditions will also remain cloudy in the evening but the probability of precipitation plummets to 2%. Nevertheless, the probability of showers in the morning will be 71%, meaning the groundstaff might have their work cut out in ensuring the match happens.
The emotion. The thrill. The unbelievable repeat of ODI CWC 2023!

"We have planning for all Australian team" - Hashmatullah Shahidi
At the presser after Afghanistan's win over England, skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi suggested that they are confident of beating Australia and said, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:
"We have planning for all Australian team. I know that he played really well in 2023 World Cup, but that's part of the history. After that, we beat them in [the] T20 World Cup. We think about all [the] opposition team, we are not coming to the ground to plan on [an] individual player. We will try our best to come with the planning and we are not playing only Maxwell - we are playing Australia."
