The photos received international attention despite it rolled out on the internet with a false claim. People shared the images claiming a Russian man threw the luxury car after he faced rejection from his lady love on Valentine's Day. According to online posts, the man had purchased Porsche as a Valentine's gift for his wife, but she rejected it, making him dramatically dump the car into a nearby garbage bin.
It was later reported that the claim revolving around Valentine's Day and love rejection was wrong, however, that fetched attention towards the photos on social media and created buzz.

The photos showed the Porsche Macan, decorated with a red ribbon on its roof, sitting inside a large garbage bin. The car's headlights were missing and there was no number plate.

As the pictures were fact-checked, it was noted that someone had dumped the vehicle in the bin but not after facing rejection in love life. Mytishchi news took to Telegram and explained the car was used by bloggers to film a video. "The story that has spread across the Internet is a fabrication. The Porsche was used by bloggers to film a video," the channel posted.
