Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married in June last year. Their wedding was quite simple with just close friends and family, and it took place at their house. Later, a wedding reception was planned which was attended by Bollywood celebs. A lot of people do inter-faith marriage, but when a celebrity decides to get married outside their caste, it surely makes it to the headlines for multiple reasons, and same thing happening with Sonakshi and Zaheer.

Recently, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Sonakshi spoke about getting married to Zaheer under The Special Marriage Act. While talking about coming from different religions, the Dabangg actress said, "Zaheer and I were not looking at the religion. Here are two people who are in love with each other and want to get married, now what is the best way to do that. He is not enforcing his religion on me, I am not enforcing my religion on him. We don't sit and talk about it. We appreciate and understand each other's culture. They follow certain traditions in their house, I follow certain traditions at my house."

She further revealed that how they respect each other's culture. Sonakshi said, "He comes and sits with me in my Diwali Puja, and I go an sit in their niyaz, and that's what matters! I respect them and their culture, and they respect me and mine (culture). His entire family, and I think that's how it should be."

Further talking about getting married under the Special Marriage Act, the 37-year-old actress said, "Under the best circumstances what was the way to get married was the Special Marriage Act where I as a Hindu woman do not need to change the religion and he as a Muslim man can remain a Muslim man. Two people in love share a beautiful bond of marriage. There was never a question asked, 'are you going to convert?' We love each other and we are getting married."

Sonakshi and Zaheer have been giving their fans a lot of couple goals on social media. From romantic pictures to funny video, their Instagram is filled with some really interesting posts.

On the work front, Sonakshi will next be seen in Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness. While the shooting of the film has been wrapped up, the release date is not yet announced.
