Tollywood filmmaker Kedar Selagamsetty was found dead in his apartment in Dubai's Palm Jumeirah on Monday night. He reportedly passed away in his sleep after he returned home from a party in Dubai. The exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.

Selagamsetty breathed his last at the age of 42. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

According to a report in Times of India, Selagamsetty attended a party in Dubai on Sunday, following which he returned to his apartment. It was discovered that he had passed away when he did not wake up the next morning.

"We have neither received any official information about his death nor are we aware of the causes of his death," a senior producer of the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) told TOI.

In 2024, Selagamsetty was all over the news after his name cropped up in a drugs case. The Hyderabad Police had conducted a cocaine drug bust at Radisson Hotel in the city, and Selagamsetty was one of the 10 VIPs nameed in the case. Post his medical tests, the police had confirmed that Selagamsetty had consumed the drugs.

Post Selagamsetty's death, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy questioned the silence of former minister KT Rama Rao, as the producer was reportedly quite close to him.

"Kedar was an accused in a drugs case busted at the Radisson Hotel in Hyderabad last year. He mysteriously died in Dubai. KTR demands inquiries into every minor issue, but why is he not seeking a probe into his friend's and business partner’s mysterious death?" questioned Reddy.

Selagamsetty's family is yet to issue an official statement on his sudden demise.
