Telugu actor and screenwriter, and YSR Congress Party leader, Posani Krishna Murali, was arrested from his Hyderabad residence on Wednesday after he was accused of making derogatory comments on Andhra Pradesh cabinet minister, Pawan Kalyan, and even using casteist slurs. Murali was seen attempting to resist his arrest and in that bid, he also got into a heated argument with the cops.

Visuals from his residence have now surfaced on the internet in which he can be seen telling the cops that he would not go to the police station with them. He also told the cops that he was unwell and was undergoing treatment, and when the officials refused to listen to him, he got into a heated argument.

The police then handed over the arrest warrant to his family and the actor was eventually arrested and taken into custody.

The arrest notice served to Murali's wife read, "The offence committted by him is congnisable and non bailable in nature and he is forwarded to the Hon'ble Additional Judicial Magistrate of 1st Class, Rajampet for Judicial custody." A case was registered against him at the Obulavaripalli police station under sections 196, 353(2), and 111, read with section 3(5) of the SC/ST Act.

He will now be produced before the Additional Magistrate in Rajampet on Thursday.
