Mumbai: The BMC undertook a massive demolition drive on Wednesday targeting unauthorised alterations in hotels, dormitories, and structures in the industrial area in Saki Naka. The civic team demolished internal walls, illegal floors, and other unauthorised structures that violated building regulations.
In an action taken by the BMC's L ward unauthorised constructions in the industrial area near the Safed Pool in Saki Naka were demolished. This included the illegal extension of a hotel building, the demolition of internal walls, and other violations.
Additionally, demolition was carried out on floors of two dormitories located on the 90-foot road in Saki Naka, a building with 18 rooms near Asalpha Metro Station, and an unauthorised hotel building with 40 rooms.
The operation involved 30 workers, 30 police personnel, along with BMC's Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Junior Engineers. To facilitate the operation, necessary machinery, including Poclain and JCB vehicles, was also deployed.
