Over 6,000 students from Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University) will be awarded their degrees on February 27 during the convocation ceremony, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla as the chief guest. A total of 70 students will receive PhD degrees, and 42 students will be honored with gold medals. The ceremony will be held at the university campus on Satara Road at 11 am, as announced by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vivek Savji in a news conference on Monday.

Dr. Savji highlighted the university's numerous achievements this year, noting an increase in the number of doctorates and patents. The university's NAAC rating was upgraded to A++, reinforcing the quality of education provided to students.

The university’s Innovation and Incubation Centre has supported 16 startups so far, with three more in the pipeline. One of the standout startup ideas from a student involved creating an application that allows visiting card details to be easily saved in a smartphone by scanning the card. Many innovative ideas like this are taking shape at the centre.

In addition to these accomplishments, the university is focusing on a new initiative in Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, with a Rs. 5 crore budget allocated for this purpose. Plans are also in place to collaborate with Australia and Israel, known for their advancements in the field. Furthermore, Bharati Vidyapeeth is set to launch an international joint master's program in Sustainable Environment, in partnership with the University of Cologne in Germany. The program will allow students to spend one year at Bharati Vidyapeeth and the second year in Germany, with 20 seats available for this initiative.

The university has also achieved remarkable success in innovation, securing 200 patents over the last five years, including 40 patents this year alone across various fields. In line with the Union Budget 2025, which permits medical colleges across India to increase intake by 10,000 seats, Bharati Vidyapeeth has proposed an additional 250 seats for its two medical campuses in Pune and Sangli.
