CM Mohan Yadav lauded Pandit Dhirendra Shastri for breaking discriminatory rules that barred dalit grooms to ride horse during their wedding procession.
"Today, all 251 grooms, some belonging to dalit and backward classes, will ride horse to reach their brides. Maharaj, youhave done a great job to end the caste conflict," the CM said.
CM Mohan Yadav said Madhya Pradesh govt wants to announce gift of Rs 51,000 to each couple. He said that the couples will be entitled to receive benefits under govt schemes.
Addressing the huge crowd, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri said, "I had to borrow money to perform my sister's wedding rituals. It's that day when I decided if God showers blessings on us and makes us capable enough, we will ensure no girl's family should undergo such a struggle."
He said, the coffers of temples in India should be opened for our daughters, their welfare, their wedding.

Girls from nine states including-- UP, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Rajasthan, will tie knot here at the Bageshwar Dham. The young couples belonging to Dalit, OBC and tribal communities will tie the knot here.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): President Droupadi Murmu reached the famous Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday. CM Mohan Yadav and Governor Mangubhai Patel received her at the Khajuraho Airport.
They all boarded a helicopter to reach Bageshwar Dham.
President Murmu arrived at Pandit Dhirendra Shastri's dham to attend a mass marriage festival of 251 couples. She will stay at the Dham for about three hours and will leave for Vadodara at 3:10 pm.
Singer Sonu Nigam, cricketers Virender Sehwag, Robin Uthappa, RP Singh, and actor Puneet Vashisht will also be present at the ceremony. WWE wrestler The Great Khali has already reached Bageshwar Dham.
