Mumbai: The Vakola police have registered an FIR for alleged kidnapping of a garment trader, Keshav Chaudhary, 60, over unpaid debt of Rs 68 lakh after he left his village in Kutch for Mumbai.
About The Case
The accused, not named in the FIR, demanded Rs 25 lakh. The complaint was registered by his son, Maheshkumar Chaudhary, 42, a garment trader in Santacruz.
On February 21 evening, Maheshkumar received a call from his mother informing him that his father had left for Mumbai on February 20 but his phone remained switched off after she spoke to him once. Maheshkumar also tried calling.
On February 24, he received a call from his father, who told him about the abduction. The police said they have sought information from the railway police at Bhachau and have requested CCTV footage to trace the accused.
