YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, aka Beer Biceps, appeared before Maharashtra Cyber officials in Navi Mumbai on February 24 to record his statement in connection with his vulgar remark on comedian Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent. During interrogation, he reportedly revealed why he went to the show as a special guest.

According to a report in NDTV, Ranveer admitted his mistake in his statement and stated that he went to the YouTube show as Samay is his friend.

The popular YouTuber also revealed that he did not charge any money for his appearance on India's Got Latent. He reportedly said that he and Samay maintain 'friendly ties' and keep going to each other's shows.

The investigation

Along with Ranveer, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, who was also a guest panelist on the show, arrived at the headquarters to record his statement on Monday. Both the YouTubers were reportedly questioned for nearly four hours.

Earlier, the cyber cell had issued Ranveer a second summons after he failed to respond to the initial summons and was absent before the Khar police in Mumbai on February 17.

Ranveer obtained interim protection from arrest from the Supreme Court in the case.

Meanwhile, an FIR was filed against Samay, content creator Apoorva Mukhija and all other individuals associated with India's Got Latent. Actress Rakhi Sawant was also summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Cell.

During his appearance on the show, Ranveer had asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex or join in once and stop it forever?" Soon after the clips from the episode surfaced on social media earlier this month, the YouTuber was brutally slammed.

Ranveer had issued an apology and said that comedy was not his forte. On the other hand, Samay deleted all the episodes of India's Got Latent from his official YouTube channel.

On February 18, the Supreme Court condemned Ranveer's remarks. Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh described the comments as "dirty and perverted," adding that such behaviour must be unequivocally condemned.
