The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against an unidentified YouTube channel for allegedly posting a video that demonstrated how to create dummy PMPML passes free of cost. The case was registered at the Cyber Police Station in Shivajinagar on February 21.

Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Nitin Narvekar, Joint Managing Director, PMPML, said, "An unknown person has posted a video on YouTube regarding the app and making of dummy passes free of cost. The video came to light last week when a PMPML staffer was surfing on YouTube. The video showed how to make dummy PMPML passes free of cost. Acting on the fake video, we lodged an FIR against the YouTube channel on February 21 in Cyber Police Station at Shivaji Nagar."
"We have taken all the precautionary measures, and posted on X (formerly Twitter) for public awareness. We request Punekars not to follow such fake videos. However, no complaints of cheating have been registered yet by the passengers. The legal action will be taken against the defaulters," he added.
"No such official video has been uploaded by the PMPML administration. Passengers could directly inform us about such suspicious activity if they found it on social media. The police are investigating the matter further," Narvekar further said.
