A 21-year-old college student attempted suicide by jumping from a metro station in Pimpri-Chinchwad, police said on Tuesday. He has been identified as Sujal Mankar (21), they added.
According to the police, Mankar is a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) student at Dr DY Patil College in Pimpri. He attempted suicide by jumping from Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro Station at around 6pm on Monday. He was admitted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) in critical condition.

Senior Police Inspector Ashok Kadlag from Pimpri-Chinchwad Police stated, "The exact reason for the suicide attempt is unknown, but his friends informed us that he was under some financial problems and had pressure from his family."
"The incident occurred at around 6pm, and the boy is in critical condition at YCM Hospital. We are investigating the matter," he added.
