Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Experience Zone and Madhya Pradesh Tourism Pavillion were major attractions for foreign and Indian delegates attending GIS 2025 on Monday. In intervals between sessions, a large number of delegates visited the two pavillions and captured memories in their smartphones.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took a round of the Experience Zone before inaugurating the summit. Using digital displays, interactive technology and virtual reality, the zone acquaints the visitors with the history, heritage, economy, industry, wildlife, culture, textiles, and other aspects of Madhya Pradesh.
It begins with the rock painting of Bhimbetka, followed by a Heritage Wall - timeless legacy, Progress Wall - Limitless Future, Vikramaditya Vedic Ghadi, rich wildlife in 3D form , Textile & Apparel sector and 18 Investor Friendly Policies. A huge handmade Banyan Tree was also installed in the zone and visitors were clicking photographs with it. Besides, delegates enjoyed an immersive experience of Orchha, Khajuraho and Sanchi Stupa while cycling, along with glimpses of the region’s wildlife using virtual reality at Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board's pavillion. They experienced a live holographic darshan of Mahakal and specially sourced prasad from Mahakal temple of Ujjain were distributed.
A special zone showcasing wellness tourism with sound healing technology has been created in the pavillion. A live counter for the state's traditional handicraft, Bagh print, allows delegates to learn about the craft up close and purchase products like sarees and stoles. To make GIS experience memorable, a Mowgli selfie point has been set up, where delegates took selfies with characters from Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, including Mowgli, Bagheera, cheetah and tiger.
