Navi Mumbai: The Raigad Local Crime Branch (LCB) conducted a major raid on three dance bars within the Khalapur police jurisdiction, resulting in case against 40 individuals and 32 bar girls. The operation, carried out on February 22, targeted bars suspected of hosting obscene performances and employing Bangladeshi and underage bar girls.

Acting on information received, Raigad Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge ordered the crackdown. Three teams, consisting of LCB officers, female constables, and other police personnel were deployed to Samudra Bar, Hotel Swagat Bar, and Hotel Poonam Bar in Khalapur.

Officials discovered bar girls engaging in vulgar dance performances while consuming alcohol with customers. Bar employees and patrons were also found encouraging these activities.

At Hotel Samudra, the police registered case against Rahul Naresh Yadav and 22 others as accused. The raid revealed that eight bar girls were involved in the performances, while seven customers and seven staff members were present at the scene.

At Hotel Swagat, the police registered case against Meera Khatun Sukhchand Shank and 28 others listed as accused. The police found 12 bar girls performing, along with 10 customers and six bar employees.

Hotel Poonam was also raided, leading to a case against Tosh Sanjeeva Mogvira, along with 22 others. The raid found 12 bar girls performing vulgar acts, with seven customers and three staff members present.

The operation was led by Police Inspector Balasaheb Khade under the supervision of SP Gharge. “We have registered cases against all those found to be indulging in immoral acts and further procedures are on,” Gharge said.
