“Not money but education can bridge the gap between rich and the poor. A man cannot be rich only with money, but he should have the prosperity of values,” opined Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) commissioner and administrator G Srikanth.

He was addressing a national conference organised on the occasion of the death anniversary of Bharatratna Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University’s Department of English, Lokseva Education Society, Dr. Rafique Zakeria Centre for Higher Learning and Advanced Studies on Saturday. Niece of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Shusnara Salim, was present as the chief guest, and the guests of honour were Dr. A G Khan, Dr. Mazhar Farooqui, and others.

Srikanth further said, people often consider money as the unit to measure rich and poor status. "However, only education can make a man prosperous, and one who is refrained from education is poor. It is observed that parents send their son to English medium schools while their daughter is sent to vernacular medium schools or not sent to school at all. It is the responsibility of every person to see that every child gets quality education and that the gender difference is discarded," he said.

CSMC PRO Tausif Ahmed, Dr. Mustajeeb Khan, Dr. Liyakhat Shaikh, Dr. Kabir Ahmed, Dr. Jartaj Hashmi, Dr. Shaikh Parvez Aslam, Dr. Farhat Durrani, Rehman Siddiqui, Dr. Faiyaaz Farooqui, and others took efforts for the success of the function.
