Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has launched a scathing attack on Babar Azam after their loss to Team India in the Champions Trophy 2025 clash on Sunday in Dubai. With Babar failing to deliver with the bat again, Hafeez has questioned how many Player of the Match the 30-year-old has against India.
The Lahore-born cricketer began the Champions Trophy with a laboured 90-ball 64 that resulted in a 60-run loss to New Zealand while chasing 321 and came under massive pressure against India. Babar played a few shots against India and looked in good nick before edging one off Hardik Pandya's bowling.

Speaking on a show after Pakistan's six-wicket loss, Hafeez claimed:
"Babar Azam Pakistan ki ek acchi product hai, ek accha player hai. Par mujhe ek Man of the Match bata de usne jo India ke khilaaf jeeta ho. Hum sab log Shoaib bhai ki performances kyun yaad rakhte hain, Younis Khan ka naam kyun liya jaata hai. Mujhe bataaiye Babar Azam, Pakistan ki sabse badi product, 10 saal se khel raha hai, ek man of the match bata de India ke khilaaf."
(Babar Azam is a good product of Pakistan and a good player. But tell me any one instance when he has won the Player of the Match award against India. We remember the likes of Shoaib Akhtar and Younis Khan due to their performances against India. Babar has been playing for ten years now but tell me how many Player of the Match awards against India)
