Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said a few politicians are making fun of our religion and creating a rift between men and men. He made the statement at a public meeting in Bageshwar Dham in Chattarpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday when he laid the foundation of a 100-bed cancer hospital. In the first phase, the hospital will come up on ten acres, the Prime Minister said.

Modi said, “Many a time foreign agencies support such politicians to sap the foundation our country and religion.” “These people have colonial mindset. They attack our temples, destroy holy places and culture. These people have anathema towards our festivals, traditions and customs,” he said.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who was also present at the event, appreciated Dhirendra Krishna Shashtri ‘Bageshwar Dham’ for his efforts to set up a cancer hospital. Yadav also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for sanctioning developmental schemes for the Bundelkhand region. Modi had already launched the Ken-Betwa River Link Project, and then, came to Chhatarpur to lay the foundation of cancer hospital, Yadav said.

“In terms of economic growth, under Modi’s leadership, the country is ahead of Britain which colonised our country for nearly 250 years. Now, India is the world’s fifth economic power,” Yadav said.

Shashtri said once even an MLA thought twice to visit Bageshwar Dham, but the PM’s visit raised the prestige of this place. This shows Modi’s affection for the Bundelkhand region, Shashtri said.

PM takes out Baba’s ‘Saadi ki Parchi’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in a different mood at Bageshwar Dham on Sunday. It is Dhirendra Shashtri who generally writes a Parchi (slip) describing the intentions of a visitor. It, however, happened otherwise: Modi read the intentions of Shashtri’s mother on her face. The PM told Shashtri’s mother, “Your desire is to get your son married.” Modi’s remark surprised her. She immediately said, “You’re right.” Then the PM gave a benign smile and said, “I shall come to attend his wedding ceremony.” Both Modi and Shashtri spoke about this episode at the public meeting.

Modi in all praise for sanitation workers, cops at Mahakumbh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in all praise for the policemen and sanitation staff who put their heart and soul into helping millions of devotees who flocked to Prayagraj to take a holy dip in the Sangam (the confluence of three rivers). Kumbh is the embodiment of Indian culture and heritage, and Mahakumbh has taken place after 144 years, he said. It was ‘Ekta Ka Mahakumbh’ (Mahakumbh of unity), Modi said.

Cancer daycare centre in every district

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has referred to the government’s efforts to fight cancer. “Several provisions have been made in the budget to fight this disease, so that those suffering from it may get treatment at cheaper rates,” he said. Cancer daycare centres will be set up in every district across the country in three years, he said. He appealed to people to become aware about the causes of cancer and keep away from Bidi, Gutkha and Paan Masala which cause this disease. The government will launch a drive in which every citizen above 30 years of age will undergo cancer screening, he said.
