Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. He was greeted here by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and other BJP leaders.

The prime minister offered prayers to Balaji at Bageshwar Dham.

He laid the foundation stone of the cancer hospital Balaji Medical and Science Research Institute in the presence of Bageshwar Dham chief Pandit Dhirendra Krishan Shastri.

Ward to be named after PM Modi's mother

The hospital aims to provide free medical treatment and care to cancer patients belonging to underprivileged and economically weaker sections of society. The institute will be equipped with state-of-the-art chemo and other machines used in the cancer treatment machines and will have specialist doctors. 

The hospital is estimated to be completed within 2 to 3 years at a cost of around Rs 200 crores .

Shastri said a ward will be named in the hospital in the name of PM's late mother Heeraben Modi.

Pandit Dhirendra Shastri posted a welcome message for the Prime Minister on social media platform X. He hailed the hospital, terming it as first ever to be built on a temple campus.

A huge crowd of people gathered at Bageshwar Dham to welcome their prime minister.

PM Leaves for Bhopal

Shortly after the foundation stone ceremony, PM Modi left with CM Mohan Yadav for Bhopal. PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Global Investors Summit in the state capital on February 23.

Top industrialists, including Birla, Mahindra, unicorn founders like Boat's Aman Gupta and Droom's Sandeep Aggrawal, and foreign delegates from across the globe will attend the investment carnival during the two days in Bhopal.
