Meerut: A viral video circulating on social media shows a confrontation involving a relative of Uttar Pradesh Minister Somendra Tomar in Meerut, following a heated argument over traffic congestion. The incident occurred on Saturday (Febraury 22) afternoon when Nikhil Tomar, the nephew of the minister and reportedly affiliated with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was driving his Mahindra Scorpio through a narrow, overcrowded street filled with flower shops, as per a report by NDTV.

As Tomar struggled to maneuver through the traffic, one of the shop owners reportedly asked an e-rickshaw driver coming from the opposite direction to stop in order to avoid knocking over the flower pots placed outside the shop.

After being stuck in the traffic for over a minute and with assistance from a companion, Tomar attempted to have the e-rickshaw move. This sparked a verbal exchange between him and the flower vendor. The incident, which quickly escalated, was captured on CCTV footage from a nearby shop.

Moments after the verbal exchange, the situation escalated into a physical altercation, with both parties seen exchanging blows and even pulling each other's hair. In the heat of the confrontation, the flower pots outside the shop were inadvertently knocked over and damaged.

The fight lasted for more than four minutes, with Tomar and his friend continuing the struggle until they eventually drove off in his car.

Following the incident, both parties made their way to a local police station to file complaints. However, after further discussion, they mutually agreed to resolve the matter amicably and chose not to pursue any legal action.
