Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Cyber Crime branch arrested a fraudster who had been using Telegram channels with the MP Board monogram to deceive students by promising them leaked question papers for upcoming intermediate and high school exams.

Additional DCP (Crime) Shailendra Singh Chauhan said that the Cyber Crime branch began investigating after reports emerged of students being scammed through Telegram groups like @MPboardclass12thpaperleak, MPBoardpaperleak2025, and MPboardPaper_official, which featured the MP Board logo.

An FIR was filed after it was found that several students had been duped of cash by the accused. The culprit, identified as Shivam Yadav (20), was arrested on Friday night from his home in Deenpura, Bhind district.

Police recovered a mobile phone, two SIM cards, and two ATM cards from him. Shivam confessed to creating one of the Telegram groups, where he lured students with the promise of leaked question papers for Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 through Paytm QR codes.

To build trust, he would provide fake question papers and ultimately deceived around 200 students, police officials said.
