Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, who is serving a life sentence for raping a minor, has reportedly violated his bail conditions by delivering sermons and meeting people at his Indore ashram. The Supreme Court had granted him medical bail until March 31, with strict restrictions against public interactions or religious discourses.

However, a recent viral video reveals him addressing a gathering of over 1,000 followers at his ashram. Asaram arrived at the Indore ashram on Tuesday night around 10 PM, reportedly travelling from Godhra by road. This marks his first visit to the ashram in 12 years, the place from where he was arrested.

According to information,on January 14, the Rajasthan High Court granted him interim bail for medical treatment, allowing him to remain out of prison until March 31. On Wednesday, he visited the Super Specialty Hospital for a medical check-up. Doctors have recommended further tests, and his treatment will begin once the results are available.

Despite no official programme being announced, followers started gathering outside the ashram after news of his visit spread. Reports suggest that sevadars at the ashram confiscated mobile phones and smartwatches from attendees before allowing them inside, preventing recordings of the event. However, security measures failed to stop a video from surfacing on social media, exposing his blatant defiance of court orders.

Authorities Expected to Act

Security at the ashram is being handled by local volunteers, with police intervention only if necessary. The Rajasthan High Court's bail conditions strictly prohibited him from holding religious gatherings or meeting followers, yet Asaram continues to challenge legal restrictions. Authorities are expected to take action against these violations as concerns over his activities grow.
