Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old taxi driver ended his life by setting himself on fire near a private college in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. The incident took place in the Kolar area of the city on Saturday morning. The driver doused himself in diesel and set himself ablaze at around 5:30 AM, succumbing to injuries on the spot.
The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the suicide. Further inquiries are underway to uncover any possible triggers behind this tragic incident.
According to information, the driver, identified as Madhur Jatav, had recently returned from a trip to Jabalpur, where he had gone to drop off passengers. His father, Ram Babu Jatav, stated that he last spoke to his son over the phone at around 9 PM on Friday. During the conversation, Madhur sounded normal and did not mention any distress or problems. However, just hours later, the police informed his travel agency's owner about his death, who then relayed the heartbreaking news to his family.
Madhur had married just eight months ago and previously worked as a driver for a government official in the state secretariat. His family insists there were no known domestic disputes, and the reason behind his drastic step remains unclear. Relatives suspect that something may have happened during his journey, prompting him to take such an extreme measure. Police have launced a probe and are investigating every angle to uncover the real reason behind the extreme step.
