New Delhi: Days after taking charge as the new Delhi Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at his residence on Saturday, February 22.

Taking to X, Gupta shared some pictures from her visit and wrote, "Today I paid a courtesy visit to the successful Prime Minister Honourable @narendramodi ji at the Prime Minister's residence. Under your guidance and leadership, the double engine government of BJP is committed to transforming the dreams of Delhiites into a developed Delhi by following the path of public welfare and good governance."

Before departing for the PM's residence, Gupta addressed her well-wishers from the first-floor balcony of her Shalimar Bagh home.

"On the first day in office, we approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme of PM Modi in the first Cabinet meeting. Our mission is to achieve Viksit Delhi as mandated by PM Modi. Viksit Delhi's journey has to be covered by all of us together," she said, as per a report by IANS.

The BJP made a historic comeback in Delhi after almost 30 decades by defeating the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the 2025 Assembly Elections. Gupta won the Shalimar Bagh constituency, defeating AAP candidate Bandna Kumari by over 29,000 votes.
